EuroMayDay2007

Musiikkia, ihmisiä, marssintaa läpi kaupungin, sitä tarjosi vuoden 2007 EuroMayDay-vapputapahtuma Helsingissä.

Tällä kertaa rähinä ja mellakointi jäi reilusti edellisvuotta vähemmäksi, varmastikin poliisin näkyvämpi läsnäolo vaikutti asiaan jonkin verran.. Sinivuokkojen lisäksi järjestystä valvoivat myös järjestäjien oma pellepataljoona.

Tässäpä siis muutama kuva tämänkertaisesta EuroMayDaysta, alkaen Narinkkatorin puheesta mielenosoitukseen, päättyen Tokoinrantaan jonne ihmiset kerääntyivät kuuntelemaan musiikkia. Lopussa väki sytytti rannalle nuotion lämmikkeeksi ja valoksi, mutta poliisi ei asiasta kauheasti pitänyt.. Väki kaikkosi melko nopeasti mellakkapoliisien marssiessa paikalle.

Music, people, marching through the city, that's what EuroMayDay2007 was about.

This time there were no riots, probably due to having police always around people.. And of course organizers own clown army kept an eye on people (and on cops too!).

So, here're some of my photos, starting from Narinkka-square, going through the city and ending at Tokoinranta where people listened some music. At some point a small fire was put up so people gathered around it to get warm and just.. chill out. For some reason police didn't like that idea, and soon people ran away as riot police came to have their own bbq party.
